I'm a writer of all things: journalism, memoir, short and long fiction. I teach creative writing workshops for people of all ages! I am also trained as a folklorist and I do long-form research in this vein; currently I'm researching Venus flytrap harvesting traditions in southeastern North Carolina and the psychological process of seeking legal work after a history of selling drugs.

I'm also in school for couples and family counseling. And, I'm the proud mom of a fantastic 7-year-old and 3-month-old. I keep busy!
